ISLAMABAD, Apr 11 (APP):The proceedings of Senate Standing Committee on Aviation on Thursday were cancelled as a protest due to absence of Minister for Aviation, Secretary Aviation and CEO Pakistan International Airline (PIA).
A meeting of the Committee was held here in the Parliament House under the chairmanship of Senator Mushahidullah Khan.
The Chairman of the Committee said that the Minister and Secretary Aviation should give importance to the Parliament.
The Standing Committee of Senate represents the Parliament, hence everyone should be aware about its importance, he said.
Senators Sherry Rehman and Maula Baksh Chandio said that unless minister, secretary and PIA top officials attend the Committee meeting, its proceedings should not take place.
The members of the Committee led by its Chairman also informed Chairman Senate about the details of today’s meeting.
The meeting was attended by Senators Faial Javed, Maula Baksh Chandio, Sherry Rehman, Nauman Wazir Khattak, Samina Saeed, Senior Joint Secretary Aviation, President PIA Union (CBA) and other officials.
